Name the NEST for the amazing home success (as well as the road) that McDonough High Schools has here. The name of McDonough High School is synonymous with success when it comes to boy's and girl's basketball. Since McDonough High School has open the Boy's basketball team has seen two final four appearances as well as a Sweet 16 birth. On the girl's side, a State AAAA Championship Runner-up as well as two Elite Eight appearances continues the rich tradition for both team that was held at Henry County High School.
Not only is the NEST home to basketball but also to three time state champions in wrestling. While still known as Henry County High School, Minnesota Vikings standout Dalvin Tomlinson won three consecutive State Championships in wrestling 2010, 2011 and 2012 before signing with the University of Alabama. Tomlinson's freshman year saw him place second in the heavy weight class at the former Henry County High School. Tomlinson's jersey, along with the jerseys of Jason Heyward (Chicago Cubs), Michael Rozier (former Boston Red Sox) and Don Lemon (former Florida Marlin and International player) have their jersey numbers retired on the wall of the NEST.
The NEST also is the home court for women's volleyball at McDonough High School.
